Shen Jia Hui, who also goes by the pen name Jia Zai, is a comic artist and makeup artist formerly working in the education sector. A graduate of the School of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, along with a Professional Diploma in Makeup Artistry, her main interests include animation, visual novels and makeup.

Her full-length comic series The Makeup Toolbox (2018), published by TCZ Studio, follows the story of two different individuals in their journeys to becoming makeup artists. This makeup-themed series taps into Jia Hui’s own professional expertise as a makeup artist and through this, readers may also learn more about makeup.

Together with eleven other artists, Jia Hui contributed a comic chapter “November Rain” in the comics anthology Our Months Together (2015), as part of the big celebration over Singapore’s 50th birthday.
