BIOGRAPHY

Lou Siow Fen, or The Bitter Stickgirl as she prefers to be known as, entered the comic artist world in 2004 and quickly gained recognition for her honest, tongue-in-cheek stories about love and life.

In 2010, she self-published The Bitter Stickgirl unanswered, which was a book compilation containing a series of Stickgirl’s cartoon illustrations from her earlier blogging days.

Stickgirl aims to keep her work relatable and in recent years, has begun focusing on illustrations accompanied with Mandarin puns. She hopes that her current comics will generate interest in the Chinese language, enabling the younger generation to improve their ability and confidence in communicating in Mandarin.
