BIOGRAPHY

 

Clio Hui, also known as Kiri, is a self-taught local artist. Since young, she has been very passionate about illustrations, anime, and manga.

Before publishing her first comic, she won 2 awards in the National Day Banner Design Competition organized by the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts in 2011.

Her journey as a manga artist began when she submitted two short stories to PuraComixmag. The free online comic magazine was then calling for submissions from the general public in its quest to discover and nurture new talents. One of her stories, "A Deal With Lucifer", was eventually selected. She was then asked to create it into a one-shot comic to be featured inside.

She later went on to produce 3 full volumes of A Deal With Lucifer totaling 348 pages and 2 commemorative A Deal With Lucifer illustration books, over a span of 3 years.

Her works and her passion as a manga artist have led her to interviews by Lianhe Zaobao and The Straits Times.

Online versions of her comics are currently published in PuraComixmag. Physical copies published by TCZ Studio Pte Ltd are available at TCZ Studio, Kinokuniya, and the National Library. In 2018, A Deal With Lucifer was featured as part of TCZ Studio Pte Ltd's international comic and manga cultural exchange with ICC counterparts from Japan, in preparation for the prestigious International Comic Artists Conference (ICC) hosted by Kyushu in 2019.
